The things people ask before their first build.
Do I need to know how installers work?
No. If you have a folder with your app in it, you have everything you need.
Will Windows show a warning when people run it?
It can. ExeTup installers aren't code-signed yet, so SmartScreen may show a warning until your download builds a reputation. You can sign the downloaded Setup.exe with your own certificate, which helps, but a warning can still appear for a while.
What can I package?
Any Windows desktop app: Electron, .NET, Python, Qt, C++ and more. Your files are installed exactly as uploaded.
Do I need a Windows PC?
Not to build your installer, because that happens in the cloud. You will want a Windows machine to try it before you send it to customers.
What counts as a build?
Each time you generate a Setup.exe. A new version or a changed setting needs a new build. A build that fails doesn't count, so you can run it again at no charge.
Is there a subscription?
No. Your first 3 builds are free, then each build is a one-time $10 payment.
